NASA Astronaut Charles Bolden

Retired NASA Astronaut Charles Bolden recently visited three public schools in St. John the Baptist Parish to share with students information about the American space program and experiences from his flights to space.  Bolden is the first African-American to log flight time in space.  He participated in four space missions during his time with NASA.  Bolden visited East St. John High, East St. John Elementary and Garyville/Mt. Airy Magnet.  Bolden visited the schools at the personal request of ESJH Science Teacher John Ellis, who met Bolden during a ceremonial banquet at NASA last year.
