St. John School Board Honors Retirees
The St. John the Baptist Parish School Board recently honored those employees who retired following this past school year. Most retirements will go into effect for July 1, 2009, coinciding with the district’s fiscal year.
The district will release several employees this year who have 30-plus years of service, including three employees with more than 40 years of professional service.
“This is always a bitter-sweet time of recognizing the many accomplishments of many of our employees and celebrating this change in their career, and at the same time, knowing that their ‘familiar faces’ will not be back next year,” Superintendent Dr. Courtney P. Millet said.
The 2009 retiree class includes: Beverly Harris, 43 years; Preston Poche, 42 years; Ella Goudia, 41 years; Beverly Harris, and Thelma Burl, 39 years; Annette Houston, 37 years; Janet Duhe, 36 years; Lugene Johnson, 33 years; Agnes Jacob, 30 years; Angela Johnson, 28 years; Barbara Bourgeois, 27 years; Cynthia White, 26 years; Wendy Boldizar and Ruby Pack, 25 years; Charles Dupont and Merita Adams, 22 years; Clarence Anderson and Josephine Clement, 21 years; Jane Chauvin, Jill Scudari and Kay Wagner, 20 years;
