SECTION 12.0 – DRESS FOR SUCCESS
All schools have Mandatory School Uniforms.
The principal will be the final word in interpreting the
dress code.
Students shall adhere to the dress code as stipulated
by the individual schools.
Redirection Center students shall wear the uniform of
the referring school.
Absolutely no alterations intended to change school uniforms
from their original design is allowed.
All students are required to wear uniforms. Shirts must
be tucked into pants; belts with proper buckles (NO name,
design, symbol, jeweled, blinking, spinners, or large
in size) must be worn and tightened so as to keep pants
at the waistline.
The administration may set rules and regulations concerning
dress code for any and all special events during and after
school hours.

Pants must be worn at the waist (No
sagging). Underwear shall not be visible. If a students’
underwear becomes visible, the student will be placed
in the in-school detention center. The parent will be
call for a parental conference.

Pockets on pants, shorts, skorts at
waistline only (no cell phone pockets)

Personal hygiene and cleanliness of
dress are required of all students.

Hair shall be neat, clean, well groomed
and not a distraction.

Proper undergarments should be worn
at all times and should not be visible.

Shirts and blouses are to be buttoned
except for the top button, and/or zipped, and needs
to be tucked in pants (no oversize shirts allowed).

Skirts, skorts and dresses should be
of reasonable length. The length must be passed the
finger tips.

No student shall wear tight-fitting
outer garments, leotard-type pants, biker pants, spandex
pants, or leggings for school wear. Biker pants/spandex
pants will be permissible during the student’s
physical education class only. These may be worn only
under physical education shorts.

Articles of clothing and/or accessories
depicting alcoholic beverages, tobacco, drugs, weapons,
or discrimination of any type (race, sex, age, etc.)
shall not be worn. No articles of clothing and/or accessories
shall be worn that contain obscene, profane, sex-related
or gang-related words or pictures that are determined
to be offensive. The administrator will make the determination
of words or picture.

Clothing should be so constructed and
worn in such a manner that it is not unduly revealing.
Sleeveless shirts, halter-tops, tank tops, see-through
garments, cut-off tops, midriff tops, slit skirts, slitted
pants, sundresses, and other garments of this nature
are not acceptable.

ID cards may be required at certain
schools.
Headgear
No head coverings are allowed. No hoods are to be worn while
inside the building. Bandannas, scarves, wavecaps, sweat bands,
etc. are prohibited. No curlers, combs, picks will be worn
in the hair. No glasses, other than prescription glasses,
shall be worn. Items will be confiscated and returned only
to a parent/guardian on request.
Jewelry
Students are cautioned against wearing large or expensive
jewelry or carrying large sums of money. If jewelry causes
a disruption, it may be confiscated. Belt buckles must
be plain: no name, design, symbol, jeweled, blinking,
spinners, or large in size are allowed.
Body Piercing
Displaying body-piercing jewelry with the exception of
pierced ears is prohibited.
Footwear
Shoes that provide sanitary protection and safety for
the feet must be worn at all times.

Black or White shoes to be worn at all
schools.

Solid Black or Solid White socks to
be worn only at all schools.

Shoes must be fasten or tied at all
times.

High heels, mesh, ballerina, or slipper
like shoes are not allowed for students to wear.

No open-toed shoes are allowed.

Slip-on clogs, and shoes without restraining
straps at the heel are not permitted.

Sandals are not permitted.
All regulations in the dress code listed above will be
enforced:

On the school grounds during, before,
or after school hours, including school buses and designated
bus stops.

On the school grounds at any other time
when any school group is using school, on busses, and
at designated bus stops.

Off the school grounds at any school
sanctioned activity, function, or event, including busses
and designated bus stops.
NOTE: The principal or his/her designee when warranted
for special activities may authorize exceptions to the
above.
